Fulltime Designer information

What is a fulltime designer?

Fulltime designers are creative professionals who work on a permanent, salaried basis for a company or organization, rather than as freelancers or on short-term contracts. They are responsible for developing visual concepts and designs across various mediums, such as digital, print, or product design, depending on the industry. Fulltime designers typically work as part of a creative team, collaborating with other departments to ensure consistent branding and effective communication through visual elements. Their roles may include tasks like creating graphics, layouts, user interfaces, and marketing materials.

How does a fulltime designer typically collaborate with other departments in a company?

Fulltime Designers often work closely with teams such as marketing, product management, and development to ensure their designs align with business objectives and technical requirements. Collaboration usually involves participating in brainstorming sessions, presenting design concepts, and incorporating feedback from various stakeholders. Regular communication and iterative feedback loops are essential, as designers must balance creative vision with practical constraints. This cross-functional teamwork helps deliver cohesive and effective visual solutions across projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fulltime designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fulltime Designer, you need strong visual design skills, proficiency in design principles, and typically a degree in graphic or visual design. Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Sketch is essential, along with knowledge of UX/UI best practices. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication help designers collaborate and bring innovative ideas to life. These competencies are critical for producing compelling, user-focused designs that meet client or organizational goals.

Senior Graphic Designer – Creative Leadership Opportunity- ON-SITE in Macon, Georgia
Full-Time | Competitive Pay | Growth into Creative Director Path

We’re not just hiring a designer.
We’re hiring a creative leader.

Our established, growing sign shop is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer ready to take ownership of the creative direction of our projects and help shape the visual future of our company.
If you’ve mastered production-ready sign design and are ready to lead, mentor, and elevate standards — this is your next step.

The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a seasoned designer who wants:
•    Creative ownership over high-visibility commercial signage
•    Leadership influence within a collaborative team
•    A pathway to Art Director or Creative Director
•    Direct impact on brand quality and client experience
You won’t just execute layouts — you’ll guide design standards, improve workflow, and serve as the creative authority between sales, production, and installation.
________________________________________

What You’ll Lead
•    Concept development for:
o    Channel letters & dimensional signage
o    Monument & pylon signs
o    Wayfinding & ADA systems
o    Vehicle wraps & fleet branding
o    Large-format environmental graphics
•    Establishing design standards and best practices
•    Reviewing and approving artwork before production
•    Mentoring junior designers and production artists
•    Ensuring projects are brand-accurate, buildable, and code-compliant
•    Contributing to workflow improvements and creative efficiency
________________________________________

What You Bring
•    5+ years of professional design experience
•    Strong background in sign or large-format graphics (preferred)
•    Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
•    Deep understanding of scale, materials, fabrication constraints, and install methods
•    Experience preparing permit-ready renderings and production files
•    Strong communication skills and confidence leading creative discussions
You think beyond aesthetics — you design with fabrication, installation, and longevity in mind.
________________________________________

 What We Offer
•    Competitive compensation based on experience
•    Performance-based growth opportunities
•    Stable, year-round work
•    Supportive team culture
•    Opportunity to shape the creative direction of a respected sign company
________________________________________

If you’re ready to move from “designer” to “design leader,” we want to talk.
Submit your resume and portfolio highlighting sign, environmental, or large-format projects.
