Leidos' Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift to join our team at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The ideal candidate will need to have experience in programming, setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.

  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Must be capable of reading engineering drawings
  • Operation of CNC lathes (primarily), provide backup operations on CNC mills and other manual equipment.
  • You will be expected to set up and run machines on a wide variety of operations involving multiple machines that convert raw materials to precision finished goods within print tolerance specification.
  • Use fixtures or gauges to verify accomplish dimensional checks.
  • Experience in the manufacturing of large aerospace components from exotic materials is a plus. 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience.
  • Applicants must be able to work on different projects in an ever changing, rapid paced environment with little or no assistance
  • Performs other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary.

  • Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of experience years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
  • Intermediate knowledge of shop math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as understand basic work instructions for product fabrication
  • General knowledge, skills, and understanding with hand and power tools to include, deburring tools, wrenches, etc.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment (micrometers, calipers, electronic height gauges, etc.)
  • Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
  • Candidates must be able to work overtime when required.
  • Applicants must be able to work full-time, 4-days per week 10-hours per shift, 2ND shift.
  • US Citizenship requirement and clearance requirement

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components from exotic materials
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic PC skills for data entry, timecard and production time entries

Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
