As a full time, nonexempt, CPS Staff Pharmacist,  you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.  


Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM- 4:30 PM . On call evenings. Some weekends required. May float to other 2 locations.

About the Pharmacy: The Pharmacy is open Monday through Sunday 8:00am to 4:30pm. HCS is the pharmacy order entry system and Omnicell is the automated dispensing cabinets utilized in the pharmacy.

About the Facility: Holly Hill Hospital-Main campus is a 168 bed, Joint Commission accredited behavioral health hospital located in the Raleigh North Carolina, which provides inpatient services for adults and seniors facing mental health and addiction challenges.  Services include inpatient mental health and addiction treatment, for ages 18 and up with adult mood disorders, panic and anxiety, bipolar and personality disorders, PTSD and trauma, grief and loss, depression, suicidal thoughts, schizophrenia and substance abuse/chemical dependency.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities, ensuring compliance with USP and hospital standards
  • Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
  • Current Pharmacist license in good standing in NC
  • Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
  • Proven ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
  • Demonstrated effective communications skills; verbal and written


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in good standing 
  • Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
  • Experience in a behavioral health hospital
