Job Description:

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Server Administrator to provide temporary staff augmentation support within a modern enterprise data center environment. The

successful candidate will support the administration, maintenance, and reliability of critical server and infrastructure systems while working closely with senior systems

administrators and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance within the on-campus data center.

• Install and maintain operating system updates, security patches, firmware upgrades, and hardware updates.

• Monitor server and infrastructure health, performance, and availability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve server, hardware, and data center-related issues.

• Assist with incident response, system monitoring, and operational support activities.

• Maintain technical documentation and follow established operational procedures.

• Participate in scheduled maintenance and support activities outside normal business hours as required.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting enterprise server environments in modern data centers.

• Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure technologies.

• Experience with patch management, system maintenance, and infrastructure troubleshooting.

• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.

• Knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.

• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.

ideal candidate is a proactive infrastructure professional capable of quickly contributing to the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems.

This is an Onsite position with hybrid potential. Candidate must be able to commute to Rhode Island College. Length of contract is 3-6 months with the potential for continued employment with HCH post contract end. Annual compensation range is $95,000 - $110,000.
