Job Description 

Select Water Solutions’ CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating a variety of commercial vehicles and specialized oilfield equipment, including winch trucks, hydro vac units, kill trucks, bobtails, vacuum trucks and hazmat transport vehicles. This position performs the loading, transportation, unloading, hauling, and handling of oilfield equipment, fluids, and materials while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, company procedures, and safety standards. Responsibilities include building and securing loads, operating mechanical winches and specialized pumping equipment, completing required inspections and documentation, maintaining equipment and work areas, and executing all job duties efficiently and safely to support field operations and customer requirements.

 

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles, specialized oilfield equipment, high-pressure pumps, and related systems in accordance with company procedures, DOT regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Load, unload, transport, secure, and deliver equipment, materials, and fluids while ensuring shipment accuracy, weight compliance, and safe handling practices.
  • Perform field operations including connecting hoses, laying pipe, circulating wells, pressure testing, heating fluids, and monitoring gauges and equipment performance.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain required DOT documentation, driver qualification records, logs, tickets, timesheets, and other operational paperwork.
  • Inspect, maintain, clean, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on vehicles and equipment; promptly report mechanical issues to supervision.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety policies, training requirements, environmental standards, and safe operating procedures while participating in required safety meetings.
  • Represent the company professionally, maintain dependable attendance, support yard and field operations as needed, and perform other duties assigned by supervision.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • 1 year of experience as CDL A driver preferred.
  • CDL A license.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Tanker and air brakes required, hazmat preferred.
  • Meet all Federal Motor Carrier D.O.T. requirements and safety qualifications.
  • Current D.O.T. medical card.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to read and interpret information such driving routes, safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Possess outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to pass D.O.T. pre-employment physical.
  • Ability to work night or weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Must be detail oriented due to the necessity of safety.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Able to thrive in a team environment.
  • CDL certification from accredited driving school and one year of similar driving experience; experience may be substituted.
  • Experience in energy industry.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Physical Demands and Exposures

  • Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
  • Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, walking.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
