Job description

Summary

ND Energy Services is seeking a dependable Class A or Class B CDL Hot Shot Driver to safely transport equipment, materials, and customer freight using a pickup truck and gooseneck trailer. This position is responsible for loading, securing, transporting, and unloading equipment while ensuring compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations.

The ideal candidate has experience with hot shot trucking, equipment hauling, gooseneck trailers, load securement, and commercial driving. Previous oilfield transportation or heavy equipment hauling experience is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a pickup truck and gooseneck trailer to transport equipment, materials, and freight.
  • Load, transport, and unload equipment while following all safety procedures.
  • Properly secure loads using chains, straps, binders, and other approved load securement equipment.
  • Inspect cargo to ensure loads are properly balanced and secured before transport.
  • Verify loads comply with weight restrictions and DOT regulations.
  • Perform required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections.
  • Inspect and maintain trailers, load securement equipment, and towing components.
  • Maintain accurate trip records and required documentation.
  • Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding deliveries, delays, and job status.
  • Follow all company, customer, DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, equipment damage, or safety concerns.
  • Safely operate in all weather conditions and on customer job sites.
  • Perform additional transportation and operational duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to meet DOT qualification requirements.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass:
    • Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
    • Random DOT drug and alcohol testing
    • Background check
    • Motor Vehicle Record review
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment
