This position supports leading-edge semiconductor technologies utilizing GaAs and InP substrates in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment.

This engineer will play a critical role in process development, yield improvement, process characterization, and continuous improvement initiatives tied to advanced semiconductor fabrication. The role requires deep technical expertise in semiconductor wet etch processing, strong chemistry knowledge, and hands-on problem-solving within a production fab environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a process engineer who wants to work on industry-defining semiconductor technologies helping drive the future of AI, photonics, and high-performance optoelectronic devices.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and optimize wet etch processes for VCSELs, photodiodes, and edge-emitting laser devices on GaAs and InP substrates
  • Define and control etch chemistries, etch rates, selectivity, isotropic vs. anisotropic etching, and undercut management
  • Support process development and refinement activities within semiconductor manufacturing operations
  • Utilize metrology tools including AFM, SEM, ellipsometry, profilometry, XPS, XRD, and optical interferometry for process characterization and defect analysis
  • Troubleshoot process deviations, material compatibility issues, and yield-impacting defects while implementing corrective actions
  • Establish and maintain SPC methodologies and process monitoring systems
  • Design and execute engineering experiments using DOE methodologies and statistical analysis tools
  • Develop CTRL plans, OCAP procedures, process recipes, SOPs, and engineering documentation
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield enhancement, scrap reduction, cycle time improvement, and cost reduction
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Device Engineering, Process Integration, Operations, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and R&D teams
  • Evaluate and qualify new wet etch chemistries, process automation technologies, and equipment platforms
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on wet etch process development initiatives

What You Bring
