How much do full time wave energy jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 3, 2026, the average yearly pay for full time wave energy in the United States is $92,294.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $69,000.00 and $114,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Where does wave energy work best?

Wave energy work is most effective in regions with consistent and strong ocean waves, typically along coastlines with high wave activity and suitable seabed conditions. Successful deployment requires understanding local wave patterns, water depth, and environmental factors, along with specialized skills in marine engineering and renewable energy systems.

What are the highest paying energy jobs?

In the energy sector, roles such as energy project managers, renewable energy engineers, and senior energy analysts tend to have the highest salaries. Full-time positions in these roles often require specialized skills, certifications, and experience, with salaries varying based on location and company size.

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

Full Time Wave Energy jobs are likely to evolve as renewable energy technology advances, potentially reducing demand for manual maintenance roles and traditional fossil fuel-related positions. Automation, AI, and improved energy storage may also phase out some manual or less efficient roles in the energy sector by 2030.

What are the downsides of wave energy?

Wave energy jobs involve working in marine environments, which can pose safety risks such as harsh weather and difficult access. Additionally, wave energy technology is still developing, leading to high costs, limited infrastructure, and potential environmental impacts on marine ecosystems. Workers may need specialized training and safety certifications to operate in this field.

What is the difference between Full Time Wave Energy vs Part Time Wave Energy?
