Job description

1st and 2nd Shift CNC Machinist (Lathe & Mill)

Location: Chester, CT

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Pay: $30.25–$35.00 per hour

**Hours: **4 days a week, 10 hour shifts (Fridays off)

1st shift 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

2nd shift 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM (15% shift differential)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our 1st Shift team. This position is responsible for operating and setting up complex CNC lathes and/or 4- and 5-axis CNC mills to manufacture precision aerospace components. The ideal candidate has aerospace machining experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and can work independently while maintaining tight tolerances and high quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate complex CNC lathes and/or CNC milling machines.

  • Perform machine setups by following setup instructions and work orders.

  • Set up fixtures, vises, rotaries, boring jaws, face plates, and other required tooling and workholding.

  • Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary machine adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications.

  • Troubleshoot machining processes and equipment to maintain quality and productivity.

  • Adjust machine controls and replace worn tooling as needed.

  • Machine precision components with complex configurations and close tolerances.

  • Maintain quality standards and ensure all work meets aerospace specifications.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision while following all safety and company procedures.

Qualifications
  • Experience machining aerospace components required.

  • Experience operating CNC lathes and/or 4- and 5-axis CNC mills.

  • Ability to perform machine setups and interpret setup instructions.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience machining complex parts with close tolerances.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Commitment to producing high-quality precision components.

Schedule
  • 1st Shift

  • Monday–Thursday

  • Four 10-hour shifts (4-day work week)

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive hourly pay: $30.25–$35.00, based on experience.
