Job description

Who We Are

PartsBadger runs a modern, automated CNC job shop in Cedarburg, WI — climate-controlled, organized, all new equipment. We blend technology with manufacturing: 8-machine Haas VMC cells with Universal Robots arm loading, Keyence inspection systems, and a team that takes real ownership of their work.

We've been named a Future 50 winner four consecutive years and ranked among the fastest-growing manufacturers in the country. If you've been in shops where the culture didn't match your standards, this is a different kind of place.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Haas VMC operator who can run a full automated cell independently and wants to keep growing. Depending on your experience level, you could step in as an Operator I, Operator II, or Automation Cell Specialist — we'll place you where your skills match and give you a clear path from there.

This is not a babysitting job. We want people who take ownership of their cell, catch problems before they become issues, and don't need to be told twice. If you're the kind of operator who takes pride in your output and wants to work with modern equipment alongside people who feel the same way, keep reading.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

  • Run a full 8-machine Haas VMC automated cell independently at pace
  • Assemble and manage tooling per setup sheets — correctly, every time
  • Perform machine maintenance tasks proactively, not reactively
  • Troubleshoot cell and machine issues (TS1 through TS3 depending on experience level)
  • Perform Keyence inspection edits and programming depending on your level
  • Complete first-article and in-process inspection documentation accurately
  • Identify problems early — tooling wear, offset drift, robot behavior, quality trends
  • Support other operators and newer team members when the shop needs it

What We're Looking For

  • Haas VMC mill operation experience — you can run a cell independently
  • TS1 troubleshooting skills at minimum; TS2/TS3 a strong plus
  • Blueprint reading proficiency
  • Hand tool and measurement tool proficiency — calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Self-directed: you manage your cell without waiting to be told what needs doing
  • Reliable attendance — consistent, accountable, professional
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Nice to Have

  • Keyence inspection programming experience
  • Universal Robots or collaborative robot experience
  • CAM software experience (Mastercam, Esprit, or Fusion 360)
  • Experience mentoring or training newer operators

2nd Shift Schedule & Premium Pay

We're specifically hiring for 2nd shift and offer two flexible schedule options:

  • Sunday–Wednesday: 4×10-hour shifts
  • Thursday–Saturday: 3×12-hour shifts
  • $2.00/hour 2nd-shift premium
  • Additional weekend bonuses for eligible weekend shifts

These schedules provide the opportunity to work fewer days each week while still maintaining a full-time schedule. If you're looking for a nontraditional schedule that gives you more days away from work, this could be a great fit.

Why PartsBadger?

  • New equipment — no fighting machines older than you are
  • Clean, climate-controlled shop that's actually organized
  • A culture built on ownership and accountability, not micromanagement
  • Clear advancement path up to Specialist and Lead/Trainer designations
  • AS9100 and ISO9001:2015 certified — work that matters to serious industries
