About Westland Real Estate Group

Established in 1977, Westland Real Estate Group is a privately owned property management company that proudly manages and owns its own diverse portfolio of over 30,000 residential units. Headquartered in Long Beach, CA, we are a growing family dedicated to high-quality service and community impact. Our core values—Family, Opportunity, Commitment, and Results—drive everything we do.

Are you a maintenance expert with a passion for teaching others? Join us and help build the future of our maintenance teams!

The Role

As the Technical Maintenance Trainer, you will be the driving force behind the skill development of our field teams. You won’t just be in a classroom; you’ll be on-site and hands-on, translating complex technical manuals into practical "checklist-style" Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and certifying our technicians in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair.

In this role, you will conduct thorough needs assessments to support strategic decisions associated with Learning amp; Development (L amp;D) efforts that drive key maintenance initiatives. You will work closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Community Managers, and Regional Maintenance Leadership to support department goals such as reducing employee turnover, improving service request response times, and maximizing Make-Ready efficiency across our portfolio in Nevada, California, and Texas.

What You Will Do
  • Curriculum Development: Design, develop, and facilitate specialized training for HVAC (410A/R22), plumbing, electrical panels, and common multifamily appliances (GE, Hotpoint, etc.).
  • Hands-on Instruction: Lead classroom, virtual, and one-on-one "side-by-side" training sessions at various apartment communities.
  • Certification Management: Act as a proctor and facilitator for industry certifications, including EPA and CAMT.
  • SOP Creation: Translate technical jargon into easy-to-follow Standard Operating Procedures for entry-level technicians.
