Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Audiologist performs audiological evaluations, electrophysiologic, and vestibular testing. The Audiologist also evaluates and counsels patients regarding hearing loss, hearing aids and implantable devices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform audiologic evaluations on pediatrics through adults as ordered by the Physician. Testing to include speech audiometry, pure tone air and bone conduction, tympanograms, acoustic reflexes, and pediatric testing via sound field testing.
  • Provides all services related to hearing aids, including, but not limited to, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fittings, verification, troubleshooting, counseling, fitting earmolds and earplugs.
  • Perform special audiometric testing including auditory brainstem response (site of lesion testing, and threshold testing), videonystagmography, electrocochleography, vestibular evoked myogenic potential, and otoacoustic emissions as assigned.
  • Perform canalith repositioning procedures for patients with benign positional vertigo as assigned.
  • Perform Cochlear Implant and BAHA evaluations, activations, mappings, and routine care and follow-up for patients with implantable devices.
  • Cerumen removal management when appropriate.
  • Counsel patients in the use and care of instruments and/or assistive listening devices, as well as, realistic expectations of benefits as assigned.
  • Provide patients and family members with appropriate educational materials, brochures, communication classes and support groups.
  • Conduct follow up appointments to determine patient success with hearing instruments. Perform measurements of validation and make indicated adjustments as assigned.
  • Perform cleaning and electro acoustical analysis of hearing instruments for established patients according to company policy as assigned.
  • Accurately and efficiently document the patient visit in the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain instruments and lab supplies ensuring all are cleaned, in good working order, and organized.
  • Handle other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Audiology (upcoming graduates welcome to apply)

Certifications/Licensures
  • State of Ohio Audiology license or ability to attain within 1 month of hire.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Intermediate-Advance level ability in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate and articulate complex information simply.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, timeliness and strong organization skills required.
