Location: Mountain View, CA (On-site)
Pay: $45.00/hour
Schedule: Full-time (30+ hours/week), Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Overview
We are hiring an experienced CDL A Vehicle Operator to support advanced vehicle testing and operations. This role involves operating a variety of vehicles-including semi-trucks, straight trucks, and passenger vehicles-while supporting the testing of driver assistance and autonomous systems on both closed courses and public roads.
This is a hands-on opportunity for professional drivers interested in working with cutting-edge vehicle technology in a structured, safety-focused environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate semi-trucks, straight trucks, and passenger vehicles during testing activities
  • Test driver assistance and autonomous features on closed courses and public roads
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIRs)
  • Provide detailed written and verbal feedback on vehicle and system performance
  • Support general vehicle operations and assist with additional tasks as needed
  • Maintain professionalism and represent operations appropriately in public settings
Requirements
  • Valid CDL A driver's license and current medical card
  • 5+ years of verifiable Class A driving experience (tractor-trailer combination)
  • Experience driving and backing 53' dry vans
  • Ability to drive for extended periods
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Ability to operate multiple vehicle types as needed
  • Must pass:
    • Background check
    • Road test
    • DOT requirements (drug test, MVR, physical)
Driving Record Requirements
  • No more than 2 minor moving violations in the past 3 years
  • No serious traffic violations in the past 5 years
  • No DUI/DWI/OUI or reckless driving involving substances in the past 10 years
  • No preventable accidents in the past 3 years
  • No DOT-recordable preventable accidents in the past 10 years
Additional Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to interpret and apply safety rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Team-oriented, professional, and reliable
  • Interest in driver assistance and autonomous vehicle technology
Schedule & Work Details
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Semi-truck driving: approximately 10-20 hours every other week
  • Remaining time spent operating standard vehicles and supporting operations
