Haiyi Hotels is looking for qualified full time Valet Attendant to join our great team at Soma Hotels. Haiyi Hotels Management is a new boutique hotelier based in San Francisco. The name "Haiyi" comes from a combination of two Chinese words, HAI meaning "ocean" and YI meaning "leisure," which roughly translates to mean providing guests with an ocean of leisure and relaxation. Our family includes the Soma Hotel Collection: Best Western Americania, Best Western Carriage Inn, and Good Hotel, and two more hotels, the Hotel Vertigo, in Nob Hill and the Hotel Metropolis, at the edge of Union Square. The Hotel Vertigo and the Carriage Inn have won the 2012 Excellence Awards from Tripadvisor. Job Description
Valet Attendant greets guests as they arrive at and depart from the property and assists them with parking needs. The Attendant will also escort guests to rooms, inform them of all hotel services and features and will be responsible for attending to immediate needs of each guest upon arrival and throughout their stay for concierge services; such as knowledge of local restaurants, special events, city attractions and guest amenities.

Qualifications/Skills:
Essential:
1. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, and write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
2. Ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles.
3. Have a clean driving record.
4. Ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations.
5. Proper cash handling.
6. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
7. Ability to read English to a degree sufficient to ascertain information from luggage tags, and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
8. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, act, and diplomacy to defuse anger.
9. Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
10.Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
11. Ability to work well under pressure of check-in/check-out of guests and handle multiple tasks at once.
Desirable:
1. Previous guest relations training.
2. High school graduate or equivalent.
