Job description

Applicator / CDL Driver

Summary/Objective

A CDL driver will operate a single, tandem or multi-axle configuration truck for delivery and/or pick-up of agronomy products to/from the company locations or customer locations. This position involves delivery of product to farm fields. This position must possess a Class A or B CDL, hazmat endorsement is a plus. In addition, they are responsible for the operation of spray equipment and the effective application of pesticides or fertilizer. They mix, load and apply pesticides and fertilizers to fields at approved applicable rates. Custom applicators also operate and maintain a variety of equipment and vehicles including sprayers, spreaders and trucks. They must maintain accurate application records and communicate with customers.

The position will report to the Auburn Plant Manager. This position will work with the Agronomic Services location and assigned customers.

  • Mix, load and apply pesticides and fertilizers
  • Apply pesticides and fertilizers at applicable rates to the appropriate fields
  • Handle and deliver bulk and packaged chemicals and ensure deliveries and pick ups are in accordance with time schedules
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and safety check
  • Clean and maintain equipment and follow all maintenance programs
  • Maintain application/spray records, logbooks, and records of cargo
  • Manage customer service relations
  • Organize and coordinate application timetable with customers
  • Knowledgeable of seed, chemical and fertilizer to make informed decisions
  • Recertify spraying technician license and safety training every two years
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, twisting and hook up hose when applying fertilizers and pesticides
  • Ability to be on feet at least 6 hour per day
  • CDL required
  • May be assigned other operational duties as needed by Plant Manager
