Job description


Radiology Technologist (XRAY) – Full Time 

 Union General Hospital is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist who is willing be a team player and help in the Pulmonology Clinic and Radiology Department. Must willing to learn Pulmonary Function Testing with Pre/Post Bronchodilator study.

DESCRIPTION:  

The primary purpose of this job is to ensure quality diagnostic imaging services for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population for health maintenance and/or improvement. The Radiologic Technologist cooperates and coordinates with all members of the Radiology Department, Nursing Services, Medical Staff and other health care professionals, clinical affiliations, Administration, students, volunteers, and other disciplines as necessary for the provision of quality patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION: 

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop. We require that you have the following:

  • Graduated from an accredited radiology program 
  •  Credentialed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    1. Will accept new application – must complete registry within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare provider is required within 60 days of hire.

Job Requirements/Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of x-ray procedures, positioning, equipment, and protocols.
  • Operate x-ray equipment in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
  • Adhering to ALARA, ensuring patient safety is a priority.
  • Maintain required records, logs, and monthly reports, as appropriate.
  • Knowledge and enforcement of infection control and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a neat, clean working environment.
  • Greet patients, prepare them for radiologic procedures, explain procedures to reduce anxiety, enter and validate patient demographics, and confirm that all ordered exams are completed.
  • Produce high-quality images in a timely manner.
  • Able to push, pull, lift as necessary.
  • Communicate equipment issues to appropriate team members.
  • Provide excellent care and customer service.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with team members.
  • Comply with all Union General Health systems company policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Must have a great attitude and willingness to work
  • MUST BE WILLING Pulmonary Function Testing with Pre/Post Bronchodilator study
  • Will need to learn how to use nebulizers
