Job description

Job Summary
For over 30 years, Hawaii Engineering Services has been the leader in supply and service to Hawaii, American Samoa and Guam/Saipan with the highest quality wastewater and water equipment. Our extensive product line covers nearly every aspect of municipal systems from pumps, electrical controls, valves, and flowmeters to wastewater treatment plant equipment to water reclamation utilizing ultraviolet (UV) disinfection systems. HES is a proud team of over 20 professionals with the highest industry reputation for expertise and local customer support.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Read and follow project plans and specifications
  • Create Bill of Materials for each project
  • Develop narratives for the intended function of the project
  • Manage all project documentation per company standards using project management software and project specific requirements.
  • Communicate with customers throughout the design and construction phases of the projects.

Qualifications
  • Current resident of Hawaii
  • College degree in science related field
  • 1 to 2 years min experience preferred in construction related field. Design, consulting, engineering, construction management, general contractor.
  • Proficient at MS Office, Adobe Acrobat. CRM, ERP and/or project management software not necessary, but a plus.
  • Ability to read, interpret construction plans.
  • Ability to read, understand, and extract data from contract specifications.
  • Quotation, Purchase Order, and Submittal creation.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, clients, vendors. Forge relationships, adapt to unforeseen conditions, problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently after assignments are given in a timely manner.
  • Attend coordination meetings and construction jobsite visits.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Compensation: $50,000 - 70,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Travel is required for customer meetings (generally local), offsite training and tradeshows.
