Position: Durability CAE Tech Specialist (Senior Role)

Job Description:
 
Core Responsibilities
  • Lead structural durability and fatigue sign-off for systems such as body structures, frames, and EV battery trays prior to prototype builds. 
  • Oversee complex full‑vehicle explicit & implicit dynamic simulations (ground strikes, curb strikes, cyclic loading) to validate structural resilience. 
  • Correlate virtual models with physical test results to ensure predictive accuracy. 
  • Conduct physics‑based root cause analysis to diagnose and resolve durability concerns from early development through production.
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive development of advanced CAE methodologies.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and road‑load teams to set design load targets and integrate durability lessons learned.
Key Technical Skills & Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Abaqus, Nastran, nCode DesignLife, FEMFAT. 
  • Strong understanding of fatigue, plasticity, ductile failure, and joining techniques in HSLA and cast materials.
  • Experience with ANSA/HyperMesh and HyperView/Meta/Post; Python/MATLAB preferred for automation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • 10+ years of experience in structural components and CAE correlation. 
Special Considerations – AI & Machine Learning
  • Experience with Reduced Order Modeling (ROM) and Neural Networks for accelerating CAE workflows.
  • Familiarity with AI‑driven design tools such as Altair PhysicsAI and Ansys SimAI.
  • Understanding of generative design for topology optimization, durability, and mass reduction.
