What to Expect

As a Technical Supervisor you will have the critical task of managing the priorities and tasks of the engineering technician team. Your experience in fast-paced production lines as well as strong technical background will make you an ideal candidate for this role. You have a passion for employee development and enjoy the process of training and developing the next generation of engineers. You are very hands-on, energetic, and have a capacity to think critically on many different complicated processes. Your proven ability to collaborate with employees, peers, and managers is one of your key strengths for success.

What You'll Do
  • Provide technical training to all technicians (8D, Kaizen, DMAIC, lean principles)
  • Collaborate with the process and quality teams to support on-going projects
  • Work with shift managers and other production supervisors daily to create priorities
  • Work with cross-functional teams including process engineering, equipment engineering and maintenance teams
  • Work with the training coordinators ensuring manufacturing Instructions, versatility matrices and other technical documentation are current
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Focus: Responsibilities include ensuring team safety training, documenting EHS incidents, proactively identifying workplace hazards, and empowering teams towards continuous operational improvements
  • Report OEE (cycle time/availability/performance) and required headcount for each area
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience working in a production engineering role
  • 3+ years managing teams of people in a production environment
  • Must have experience managing direct reports in a production environment
  • Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing and 6-Sigma principles
  • Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient with MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
