Full-Time Business/Hospitality Management Instructor (Temporary)

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Temporary, 2026-27 Year
Classification: Temporary
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $52,156 - $85,165 based on degree and experience

Job Summary: The Business/Hospitality Management Instructor will participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of courses and accreditation of the tourism and hospitality management program. This teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses within the Business discipline. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Teaching assignment may include day, evening, weekend, and/or online courses.
  • Teaching assignment may include a full range of undergraduate courses such as Human Relations, Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Principles of Business, Business Law, Principles of Management, Business Math, Marketing Principles, Professional Selling, Internet Marketing, Personal Finance, Business Communications, Advertising and Promotion Management, Consumer Behavior, Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior and Team Development, Critical Thinking in Business.
  • Maintaining scheduled office hours, advising students, developing curriculum, participating in college service, and professional development activities.
  • Develop tourism and hospitality management course and program curriculum and assessments in accordance with SC4 General Education standards.
  • Present completed draft tourism and hospitality management course and program curriculum to the SC4 Curriculum Committee.
  • Assist in the launch of our tourism and hospitality management program.
  • Assist the Chief Academic Officer as assigned.
  • Community service is encouraged.
 
Supervision Received: Reports to the Chief Academic Officer.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required in Hospitality/Tourism Management or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education and/or significant industry experience.
  • All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience and/or interest in using multimedia/new instructional technology in the classroom.
  • Experience and interest in utilizing Learning Management Systems for course enhancement or delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Team player, advocating and exemplifying a cooperative approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology.
