How much do full time telemetry engineer jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 20, 2026, the average hourly pay for full time telemetry engineer in the United States is $41.85, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $31.25 and $53.61 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

A telemetry engineer typically does not earn $500,000 annually; such high salaries are more common in executive or specialized roles within the tech or finance industries. Highly experienced engineers in niche fields or with advanced skills in areas like data science or software architecture may reach high six-figure incomes, but $500,000 is rare for standard engineering positions. Compensation depends on factors like location, company size, and expertise.

What engineers make $300,000 a year?

Senior telemetry engineers, especially those with extensive experience, specialized skills in data analysis, and certifications in relevant tools, can earn $300,000 or more annually. High compensation is often associated with roles in industries like aerospace, defense, or large tech companies, where complex data monitoring and real-time systems are critical.

Can I make 200K as an electrical engineer?

Full Time Telemetry Engineers and electrical engineers can potentially earn $200,000 or more annually, especially with advanced skills, experience, and certifications in specialized areas like signal processing or embedded systems. Salaries vary based on industry, location, and level of expertise, with senior roles and those in high-demand sectors often reaching or exceeding this level.

Is telemetry tech a good career?

Telemetry engineering is a specialized field involving the collection and transmission of data from remote sources, often used in healthcare, aerospace, and industrial applications. It requires technical skills, knowledge of communication protocols, and often certifications or training. The career offers opportunities in growing industries with demand for data management and remote monitoring expertise.

What is the difference between Full Time Telemetry Engineer vs Part Time Telemetry Engineer?

AspectFull Time Telemetry EngineerPart Time Telemetry Engineer
CredentialsTypically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field; certifications like FCC or industry-specific licenses are commonSame credentials as full-time, but may have less emphasis on certifications due to part-time nature
Work EnvironmentFull-time employment in offices, labs, or field sites; consistent scheduleFlexible hours, often remote or project-based
Industry UsageCommon in aerospace, telecommunications, and defense sectorsUsed in similar industries for specialized or project-based tasks

Full Time Telemetry Engineers typically work full-time with a consistent schedule, requiring comprehensive credentials and often working in dedicated environments. Part Time Telemetry Engineers may have flexible hours and similar qualifications but focus on specific projects or tasks, offering more flexibility in work arrangements.
