Job description

Position Overview

The Teen Therapy Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will provide critical mental health services, offer support to individuals and families, and help foster emotional wellness in our community. Our aim is to combat the stigma associated with seeking help and to deliver exceptional counseling to those in need.

About the Organization

Located in Danbury, Connecticut, the Teen Therapy Counseling Center is committed to serving a diverse population with various mental health needs. Our center focuses on offering a welcoming environment where individuals and families can receive comprehensive care, treatment, and support. Our team of dedicated professionals collaborates to ensure that the highest standards of mental health practices are maintained, always prioritizing patient well-being.

Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for a flexible work style that integrates seamlessly into your daily life. Despite the remote setting, you will engage with a vibrant team of mental health experts who collaborate virtually to create an inclusive and supportive workplace culture. The position also involves outpatient office work, assessing and interacting with clients in person when necessary, which enhances the therapeutic relationship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed assessments and evaluations to develop tailored therapy strategies for clients.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic services—including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy—across diverse settings such as individual, group, and family sessions.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams of healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, upholding the privacy and safety of all clients.
  • Continually engage in professional development activities, including workshops and training sessions, to stay informed about advancements in mental health practice and research.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will focus on a broad spectrum of mental health issues affecting teenagers and their families, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and relationship challenges. Recognizing that access to mental health support can be limited in certain communities, you will play a pivotal role in delivering much-needed services to those often underserved.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical counseling experience, demonstrating proficiency in a therapeutic setting.
  • Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards applicable to mental health practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) software and other relevant technologies.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance abuse counseling is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with youth and adolescent populations in a clinical context is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and caseload.
  • Comprehensive benefits package that includes dental, vision, and health insurance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage is provided.
  • Opportunities to receive client referrals, aiding in building your caseload.
  • Administrative support with billing and documentation, reducing your non-clinical workload.
Career Growth Opportunities

At the Teen Therapy Counseling Center, we believe in fostering professional development and career advancement. You will have access to ongoing training and mentorship opportunities aimed at enhancing your clinical skills and expanding your knowledge in mental health treatment. The structure of our organization allows for potential leadership roles and specialization within various therapeutic disciplines as you grow within the company.
