Job description

Mind Computing is seeking a fulltime, 100% remote Full Stack Developer to support a project with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing modern, cloud native applications across both front-end and back-end technologies. This role requires expertise in Java, Node.js/TypeScript, React, and cloud-based architectures, with experience designing scalable applications, integrating AI/LLM capabilities, and delivering secure, reliable solutions in regulated environments.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using technologies such as Java, Java EE, Java 17, Spring, Node.js/TypeScript, React, Angular, Python, Django, Flask, and FastAPI.
  • Develop responsive user interfaces with a focus on performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Build and maintain server-side applications, RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
  • Design and implement data solutions using relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Develop event-driven architectures and cloud-native applications to support enterprise-scale systems.
  • Integrate AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities using platforms and APIs such as OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and Claude.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend tools, frameworks, and architectures to improve application capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues while maintaining high-quality coding standards.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, technical design discussions, development, testing, and deployments.
  • Develop automated tests and support quality assurance efforts using tools such as Cypress and Playwright.
  • Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities while following secure software development practices.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable software solutions.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a Full Stack Developer.
  • Strong experience with front-end frameworks such as ReactJS and/or Angular.
  • Hands-on experience with backend development using Java, Spring, Node.js/TypeScript, or Python frameworks.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
  • Experience integrating AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI APIs, into production systems.
  • Experience with AWS cloud-native services such as Aurora, ECS, SQS, S3, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
  • Experience designing AI-enabled, data-intensive, or highly scalable systems.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with the VA or other Government agencies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7.
  • Experience working with AI/ML platforms, enterprise AI solutions, or generative AI technologies.
  • Ability to obtain government clearance.
