Work Environment

This role is primarily remote, allowing for a flexible work environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance. Our outpatient counseling center serves clients on an appointment basis, facilitating tailored therapy sessions that suit individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations to determine appropriate, individualized treatment plans for each client.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions through various modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, which may include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Document and maintain accurate clinical records that comply with ethical standards and legal requirements, ensuring confidentiality and proper client management.
• Regularly participate in ongoing professional development activities and stay informed on the latest research and advancements within the mental health field.
• Utilize professional judgment to adapt therapeutic approaches as needed to effectively meet the evolving needs of clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our counseling services cater to a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing a wide range of mental health issues. You will encounter clients coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and more, utilizing a holistic approach to foster their emotional and psychological growth.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
• An active and unrestricted license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience providing mental health counseling services in a clinical or outpatient setting.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with a variety of therapeutic modalities to address complex client concerns and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Previous involvement in collaborative team environments that emphasize multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.
