Job description

Seeking an HVAC Principal Designer to support our client in Greenville, SC.

NOTE: US Citizenship is required to perform this contract.

Education

A combination of education and fifteen (15) years of experience (associate degree preferred) in drafting related to Engineering and Construction (nuclear preferred)

Requirements:

The Contractor will operate under detailed instructions, provide the essential technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role has the responsibility to promote competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to work on design and perform 3D layout of complex scope and may serve as Design Area Lead.

Highly skilled in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) with demonstrated experience with computer aided

Use drafting applications to originate and produce drawings and 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity 3D modeling experience required (S3D preferred)

Read, interpret, and generate design drawings of moderate to advanced complexity with minimal supervision from engineering. Must have the ability to walk down field systems with minimal guidance, interpret field direction, generate advanced design details, create new drawings, modify existing drawings, and direct, check and approve work done by other designers

Ability to develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, key quantities tracking reports, project scope of services, scope of facilities etc.Conduct review of model using 3D review platform and create 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity

Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layout

Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity

Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of advanced complexity within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution

Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations

Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures

Other duties as assigned

SP3D HVAC Package, Microstation, Autocad

Navigate Navisworks

Size Ductwork

Size HVAC Equipment

Bluebeam experience

Develop Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs)

Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

Follow P&ID and develop SP3D Model to support

Nuclear Experience

Background and experience must include drafting / designer experience in engineering fields, such as electrical, mechanical, structural, communications, architectural, fire protection, or civil

Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to specialized (nuclear or other areas) engineering design

Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job

Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials

Practical field experience

Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation program
