Job Summary: The Assistant Coach aids in the development and overall strategy of the assigned sport. Analyzes and interprets data from the performance system to provide targeted programs to improve the performance of competitive athletes. Evaluates, recruits, instructs, supervises, disciplines, and coaches student-athletes to prepare them to compete successfully against major college competition.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and some experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to support the ideals and mission of the University and its Rowing program. Effective organization skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Solid computer skills. Strong teaching/coaching skills. Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, recruits, and alumni. Knowledge of Division I NCAA rules/regulations. Willingness to learn and collaborate.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Southeastern Conference rules/regulations. Division I coaching experience. Boat Rigging knowledge. Trailer driving experience. Recruiting experience. Rowing experience.
