AEC Solar Energy Corp is expanding and looking for skilled and motivated Residential Rooftop Solar Installer to join our growing team in Albany, NY. We are hiring 6 new team members for our Roofing, Electrical, and General Construction Crews. As a Lead Foreman or a Crew member / Installer, you’ll help manage and execute residential and commercial solar and storage projects—ensuring each system is built safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Install photovoltaic (PV) systems in both residential and commercial settings.

  • Lead or assist with the layout and assembly of roof- or ground-mounted solar racking systems.

  • Interpret and review project site plans, ensuring accurate installation to spec.

  • Use hand and power tools to complete system builds.

  • Work on pitched rooftops and climb ladders as part of daily tasks.

  • Label components and complete system documentation.

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers on-site.

  • Maintain and enforce safety and compliance standards (OSHA, fall protection, PPE).

  • Ensure quality workmanship and attention to safety and cost-efficiency throughout each project.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in solar, roofing, electrical, or general construction preferred.

  • Comfortable working at heights (rooftops, ladders).

  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools.

  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying conditions.

  • Positive and clear communication style; strong team collaboration.

  • High attention to detail and accountability.

  • NABCEP certification or similar is a plus, but not required.
