Job Description:

Position Title: SKYWISE - Intermediate Software Engineer Full Stack

Position Type: Full Time

Department: Software Factory

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Job Summary:

Skywise is a leading digital services company, wholly owned by Airbus. We deliver a first-of-its-kind offer that seamlessly integrates Planning & Operations Control, Flight, Technical, and Ground Operations. By providing interoperable digital solutions for end-to-end operations, Skywise combines aircraft manufacturer expertise and digital know-how to transform operational complexity into predictable and profitable performance, ensuring resilient and more sustainable operations.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Intermediate Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team and accelerate the growth of our Software Factory. In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to bridge the gap between robust backend logic and intuitive user interfaces.

You'll work on diverse architectures - from cloud-native AWS microservices to mission-critical applications - designing, implementing, and optimizing UI applications and backend services in a microservices-based environment.

Responsibilities:

As a Fullstack Software Developer, you will be a technical anchor for our products, balancing backend reliability with frontend excellence. Your main duties will include:

  • Development & Architecture: Develop and maintain .NET (C#) applications and modern UI components. You will extend existing infrastructures and propose new architectural designs to improve product behavior and scalability within a microservices-based environment.

  • End-to-End Feature Delivery: Implement product features-sometimes from limited specifications-through active engagement with stakeholders. You will be responsible for coding, documenting, and debugging tasks to meet high-level acceptance criteria.

  • Quality & Testing: Set high standards for code quality and testability. You will guide the creation of unit, component, and functional tests, coordinating cross-team implementations to ensure reusability and avoid duplication.

  • Technical Direction: Provide technical guidance for solutions within our services. You will identify potential obstacles in team plans, define contingency plans, and solve complex problems with minimal supervision.

  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Supervise and guide more junior team members, conducting code reviews and refactoring at the functional level. You will foster a testing mindset and ensure the team follows security and coding best practices.

  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and lead "chapter" initiatives to achieve business goals. You will leverage your deep technical understanding to influence future tech stacks and seek new ways to improve the tribe's productivity.

  • Agile Advocacy: Actively participate in our SAFe process, guiding others in agile development concepts and leading the adoption of change and continual improvement.

Must-Haves:

We are looking for a versatile engineer who combines frontend expertise with solid backend fundamentals.

  • Professional Experience: 4+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record in both Front End (Vue.js, TypeScript) and Back End (.NET / C#) environments.

  • Frontend Depth: Experience in building SPA and Micro-frontend solutions from the ground up, using modern HTML/CSS (SASS).

  • Backend & API: Hands-on experience with ASP.NET Web API, Entity Framework, and maintaining both microservices and monolithic architectures.

  • Cloud & DevOps: Recent experience with AWS (or other major cloud providers). Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and containerization with Docker.

  • Quality: Strong commitment to software reliability through Unit, Component, and Functional testing.

  • Design & UX: Practical knowledge of Responsive Design, Accessibility standards, and working with Design Systems.

  • Communication: Strong technical communication skills in English (written and spoken), with the ability to lead and share concepts with various audiences.

  • Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying technical challenges, proposing effective solutions, and championing team spirit.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have:
  • Advanced Testing: Deep expertise in automated functional tests using Python, combined with a broad understanding of testing methodologies (functional & non-functional). ISTQB certification or demonstrable knowledge of ISTQB best practices is a strong asset.

  • Legacy & Desktop Tech: Experience with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) and an understanding of ASP.NET MVC or ASP.NET Web Pages.

  • Aviation Domain: Understanding of airline operations, flight planning, or air navigation principles. A genuine passion for the aviation industry is a huge plus!

  • Process & Methodology: Practical knowledge of agile development concepts and experience working within the SAFe process.

We Offer
  • Located in a prime location Ponce City Market in the Atlanta Office

  • Stable, full-time employment contract

  • Flexible working hours with a hybrid model (3 days per week in our Atlanta office at Ponce City Market)

  • Training and development opportunities to support your career growth

  • Access to the latest knowledge and technologies enabling professional development

  • Opportunity to work on international projects and collaborate with global teams, including occasional international travel

  • Private medical coverage

  • Mental health support platform

  • Life insurance

  • Access to Employee Share Scheme

  • Employee referral program bonus
