Job description

About the Role

KIDSUNITED is a leader in early childhood development through soccer. Our unique training method helps children ages 1.5 to 9 grow physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually—using soccer as the educational tool.

As a KIDSUNITED Lake Ridge Coach, you'll play a meaningful role in shaping young children during some of their most important developmental years while helping build the founding coaching team at our new Lake Ridge location.

This is a high-energy, full-time coaching position for someone who loves working with children, enjoys movement and soccer, and thrives in a positive, team-oriented environment.

Because we serve a diverse community that includes English- and Spanish-speaking families, bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coach fun, engaging, age-appropriate soccer and developmental classes for children ages 1.5–9.
  • Follow the KIDSUNITED curriculum, methodology, and established class structure.
  • Help children develop body control, coordination, confidence, teamwork, and important life skills.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for every child.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with children and their parents.
  • Provide parents with meaningful feedback regarding their child's participation and progress.
  • Maintain accurate child progress and class records.
  • Arrive prepared at least 15 minutes before each scheduled session and remain up to 15 minutes afterward as needed to organize equipment and communicate with parents.
  • Maintain professional and age-appropriate language and conduct at all times.
  • Wear the required KIDSUNITED uniform and footwear appropriate for indoor turf.
  • Follow all KIDSUNITED health, safety, child-protection, and professional conduct standards.
  • Attend required training sessions, staff meetings, and continuing coach-development activities.
  • Participate in KIDSUNITED's continuous training program to maintain consistent program quality.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback that help strengthen the KIDSUNITED coaching experience.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • At least 6 months of youth soccer coaching experience, OR 1+ year of experience working with children combined with a soccer-playing background.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating with both young children and parents.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, high-energy environment.
  • Flexible availability, including daytime, evening, and weekend schedules.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional.
  • Genuine passion for working with children and helping them develop.

What Makes a Great KIDSUNITED Coach

Our strongest coaches bring more than soccer knowledge. We're looking for people who demonstrate:

  • High energy and enthusiasm.
  • A warm, friendly, and engaging personality.
  • The ability to connect naturally with young children.
  • Patience, positivity, and effective classroom management.
  • Confidence communicating with parents.
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and KIDSUNITED curriculum standards.
  • A team-first attitude.
  • A desire to learn and grow through ongoing training.

Why Join KIDSUNITED Lake Ridge?

You'll have the opportunity to join our founding coaching team and help establish a new youth soccer program in the Lake Ridge community. You'll receive ongoing training and development while doing meaningful work that positively impacts children and families.
