Job description

About the Role

We are a licensed fire and life safety contractor (C-10 / C-16) serving commercial, industrial, multi-family, and public works clients across Southern California. We install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm and life safety systems — and we do it the right way, with clean documentation and no shortcuts.

We're looking for a Fire Alarm Technician who can work independently in the field, troubleshoot systems others have given up on, and represent us well in front of building owners, property managers, and AHJs.

What You'll Do

  • Perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems per NFPA 72, Title 19, and the California Fire Code
  • Troubleshoot and repair troubles, ground faults, supervisory conditions, and nuisance alarms
  • Install and terminate initiating devices, notification appliances, control panels, and associated wiring
  • Program and configure addressable panels; perform point-to-point verification
  • Support fire alarm acceptance testing and coordinate with AHJs, general contractors, and other trades
  • Complete accurate service reports, inspection reports, and deficiency documentation in the field, same day
  • Communicate deficiencies and repair recommendations clearly to customers
  • Participate in a paid on-call rotation for emergency service (shared across the team)

What You Bring
Required

  • 2+ years of hands-on fire alarm experience (inspection, service, or installation)
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and California Title 19 requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, riser diagrams, and point-to-point wiring drawings
  • Valid California driver's license and an insurable driving record
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders and lifts, and in occupied buildings
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Professional, presentable, and reliable — you'll be in customer buildings every day

Preferred

  • NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems
  • Experience with Mircom, Notifier, Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Simplex, EST, Potter, or Honeywell platforms
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay: $30.00 – $38.00/hour, set by experience and certification level. NICET-certified technicians start in the upper half of the range.
  • Monthly benefits stipend of $500, paid on your regular paycheck after 90 days — use it toward health, dental, vision, or wherever you need it. No plan you didn't choose.
  • Paid training, and we cover NICET exam fees and study materials

Why Work Here

We pay for the training that moves your career forward — NICET exam fees and study materials, manufacturer courses, and factory training on the panels we actually service.
