Job description

Overview

CORT Tradeshow and Events is hiring immediately for a Sewing Machine Operator in Las Vegas, NV. CORT Events provides furniture rental solutions to trade shows and events including festivals, weddings, corporate events, or even the Superbowl!

We are seeking an upholstery sewing machine operator in our repair shop. This person will be responsible for the repair and refurbishing of damaged rental furniture to bring it back to established quality standards.

Pay: Starting at $18 / hour depending on experience

Schedule: Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm with occassional overtime.


Responsibilities

  • Repair furniture to include work in upholstery, leather/vinyl
  • Cut vinyl or upholstery material according to patterns
  • Sew upholstery covers
  • Install zippers or Velcro
  • Examine worn or damaged furniture to determine extent of repairs required, then perform basic repairs.
  • Conduct daily touch-up and repair of furniture.
  • Order and maintain parts and supplies for repairs.
  • Train other warehouse personnel in the basics of touch-up repair.
  • Track daily repaired pieces, for warehouse report.
  • Maintain a consistent quality and quantity in work produced.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of related sewing experience and/or training.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to make minor repairs to furniture and to match colors.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work with chemical-based repair and cleaning products safely and according to OSHA regulations,
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed to include: long hours, odd hours, and weekends.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10-15 pounds, occasionally move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
