Days

Responsibilities
  • Provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients requiring complex assessments, high-intensity interventions, and continuous monitoring.

  • Uses clinical judgment and assessment data to anticipate, prioritize, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions.

  • Operates, monitors, and adjusts specialized medical equipment and interprets data from monitoring systems.

  • Responds to emergencies using established nursing standards, protocols, and life-saving interventions.

  • Assesses patient needs, develops and revises individualized care plans, and evaluates patient outcomes.

  • Advocates for patients and families while ensuring age-appropriate care across the lifespan.

  • Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams and may serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or educator.

  • Documents care accurately, delegates tasks appropriately, and ensures compliance with evidence-based practice and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Education/Training  

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department. 

Licensure/Certification  

  • Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license  
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.  

Experience

  • At least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting
