Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking applicants for a Full-Time Security Guard. This position is Monday-Friday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. (including holidays). The selected candidate will staff the Visitor Center, issue badges, respond to alarms and emergencies, maintain the security of the SDL campus, and monitor CCTV systems.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Greeting and assisting visitors
  • Processing visitors and issuing security badges
  • Updating visit logs daily and scanning and attaching check-in form to the visit log
  • Answering phones
  • Monitoring CCTV systems
  • Issuing parking permits
  • Ensuring security protocol is followed
  • Conducting security patrols on foot
  • Responding to alarms and emergencies
  • Providing assistance as needed during emergency response
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must live within local commuting distance to North Logan, Utah
  • Experience programming and issuing security badges
  • Experience operating CCTV systems
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Ability to handle and protect sensitive information
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with a wide range of internal and external customers
  • Professional, friendly demeanor
  • Computer experience, Microsoft Office software, and various office equipment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
