Location: Calgary, AB
Site: AgeCare SkyPointe
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour Day & Night Shifts
Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Pay Rate: CA$18.50/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview

Paladin Security is seeking a Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard to join the team at AgeCare SkyPointe in Calgary, AB.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and can combine strong security awareness with professionalism, empathy, and excellent customer service. As a Healthcare Security Guard, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, visitors, and healthcare professionals.

Healthcare security can be physically and emotionally demanding. Successful candidates will be comfortable responding to challenging situations, using verbal de-escalation techniques, and making sound decisions under pressure while treating everyone with professionalism and respect.

Please note: Due to site-specific operational and resident care requirements, this position is restricted to male applicants.

Responsibilities
  • Provide access control into and throughout the healthcare facility.
  • Conduct proactive patrols to identify security risks, safety hazards, and policy violations.
  • Monitor the facility and respond appropriately to security incidents.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
  • Monitor resident safety and provide support to healthcare staff when required.
  • Investigate incidents and complete accurate reports and documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with residents, visitors, healthcare staff, and emergency responders.
  • Use verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques when handling challenging or potentially volatile situations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining appropriate security procedures.
  • Remain calm and exercise sound judgment during emergencies and high-pressure situations.
  • Help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for everyone at the facility.

Requirements

Must Have
  • Valid Alberta Security License.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong observation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Physically capable of completing patrols and responding to emergencies.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Ability to meet the site-specific applicant requirement noted above.
