Overview:
Audacy Minnesota’s WCCO-AM is searching for an experienced, dynamic Broadcast Journalist. Are you a curious and savvy journalist with an impressive work ethic - ready to help work with one of the upper Midwest’s most-trusted news teams? Are you deadline driven and comfortable in a bustling newsroom? You must be a great writer with a highly relevant style, possess a compelling and commanding on air delivery, be a proficient and enterprising news gatherer - using a variety of sources - and be skilled with audio and video editing equipment and programs. You will be expected to actively participate on various social media channels and contribute content to the station website. Look to collaborate, innovate, and produce content in a fast-paced newsroom or field environment - and be ready and eager on a daily basis to pitch story and interview ideas.
What You'll Do:
- Anchor multi-hour shifts on News-Talk station.
- Produce and recording news stories.
- Gather, write, record, edit and deliver live coverage when breaking news occurs.
- Ability to write and post stories to website and social media.
- Interview newsmakers.
- Write scripts and ad-lib material for stories.
- Develop and research potential sports stories.
- Other duties as required by management.
- Must be available early mornings; and other dayparts as necessary if breaking news warrants.
More About You:
Required & Preferred:
- Minimum of 3 years anchoring or reporting news/sports for broadcast media.
- Must be computer literate and have excellent writing skills.
- Proficiency in editing and packaging news sound and interviews.
- Must possess contemporary sound and excellent on-air delivery.
- Knowledge of the broadcast area and station demographics.
