Job description

Location: Twin Cities, MN (Hybrid – weekly in-person filming required, editing done remotely)

Hours: 10 hours per week (independent contractor)

Compensation: Approximately $45/hour equivalent


About the Role

Hi! I'm Lizzie, a registered dietitian and the creator behind It's a Veg World After All (https://itsavegworldafterall.com/), a recipe website dedicated to helping people eat more vegetables in realistic, approachable ways.


I'm looking for a creative, organized person to help take my social media content to the next level. In addition to a strong experience filming and editing videos, the ideal candidate should enjoy brainstorming ideas and helping build a brand that makes healthy eating feel attainable.


If you love short-form video, enjoy staying on top of social media trends, and get excited about creating content that genuinely helps people, I'd love to hear from you.


What You'll Do

  • Attend one weekly in-person filming sessions (approximately 3 to 4 hours)
  • Create shot lists and general outlines for the video filming sessions (content list and calendar will be provided)
  • Film recipe demonstrations, educational videos, and related content
  • Edit the filmed content to create engaging short-form videos primarily for Instagram Reels, approximately 3 per week
  • Include text overlays and music choices
  • Write captions that match brand voice
  • Schedule and organize content for publishing
  • Maintain and organize a growing library of video assets so content can be easily repurposed
  • Review content performance and contribute ideas for future videos, hooks, and trends in 1, 1-hour monthly recap meeting with team


Qualifications

  • Experience filming and editing short-form vertical video in the food blogging or influencer space (Instagram Reels, TikTok, and/or YouTube Shorts)
  • Strong editing skills with an understanding of pacing, hooks, captions, and viewer retention
  • Experience with Instagram Edits, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software
  • A creative eye and ability to provide general direction for video shoots
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • An interest in food, cooking, nutrition, and wellness (nutrition experience is not required but a bonus)
  • Experience using social media automation tools


This position starts at approximately 10 hours per week, with the opportunity to grow as the business grows.
