Job description

MicroTech is seeking a Trusted Thin Client Software Application Integration Support II for the Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC) at Shaw AFB in South Carolina. The CAOC team provides technical support, O&M, and system administration tasks and activities for server clients and applications.


The candidate shall supplement government technical personnel to support the day-to-day management, operation, maintenance and administration of communications and IT systems and services in production, development, exercise and training environments. Preventive, remedial, and corrective maintenance shall be performed to ensure equipment and/or systems are in full operating condition as described by the equipment manufacturer without degradation of service. Equipment, regardless of whether it is providing service at any time, shall be maintained as if it were providing service.

ยท Provide Tier 2/3 technical support;

ยท Facilitate technical support and O&M activities as required;

ยท Design, write, modify and implement software programs/applications;

ยท Support and install software applications/operating systems;

ยท Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis and certification of software;

ยท Integrate, reverse engineer and adapt legacy COT/GOTS applications onto the virtualized platform to support the theater and global operational mission;

ยท Maintain un-compiled software (e.g., C++, .NET, JAVA, PYTHON, etc.);

ยท Compile software to support Operating System;

ยท Develop โ€œglue-wareโ€ to support operational client applications and security patches;

ยท Provide integration support; and update system architectures, software and networks;

ยท Plan and integrate new operational capabilities and client applications, as required by the government;

ยท For โ€œUrgentโ€ requirements, new applications and capabilities shall be integrated within 24 hours of request unless otherwise approved by the government;

ยท For โ€œRoutineโ€ requirements, new applications and capabilities shall be integrated within five business days of request unless otherwise approved by the government;

ยท Port and adapt the system onto new GFE-provided hardware, as required;

ยท Perform security vulnerability assessments, and integrate required security enhancements while maintaining application operational functionality;

ยท Update applicable documents as a result of government-approved integration or engineering changes;

ยท Perform Quality Assurance (QA) testing on configuration changes prior to modification of production system;

ยท Integrate application changes made to the system to include patches, updates and enhancements to ensure the synchronization at both performance locations; and

ยท Develop and submit a Software Engineering Monthly Status Report (Deliverable: Monthly Technical Status


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or Computer Engineering or related field, and 8 years' software development/engineering experience; or
  • Associateโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or Computer Engineering or related field, 12 years' software development/engineering experience; or
  • 14 years' experience software development engineering
    experience, and 3 years' software development  experience (i.e. C#, Java, C/C++, etc.)

AND

  • DoD 8140 DCWF 411, Advanced Level; and
  • Citrix Certified Expert-Virtualization (CCE-V) or equivalent certification
  • Active Secret clearance
