Job description

Savvas Learning Company is seeking a highly skilledย Science Curriculum Specialist to support our Mountain West territory. This role requires a self-starter who possesses a competitive mindset fit for sales and a deep passion for K-12 Science instruction. Curriculum Specialists (CSs) work in close partnership with Curriculum Specialist Managers and Account Managers throughout the territory. As a Science content specialist, the CS will partner directly with market sales and product management teams to support the sales process, from prospect to close, advancing Savvas Learning Company products, services, and solutions in the Mountain West Territory. This specialist will develop and maintain ongoing relationships with school, state, regional, and/or district decision makers in the markets. Candidates must reside in the territory to be considered for this position as they will be required to attend on-site customer meetings.

Candidates must reside in the Mountain West territory as on-site meetings are required. The ideal locations for this position are Denver, Phoenix, or Seattle.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Achieve Revenue Targets: Contribute to meeting and exceeding team sales quota in the Mountain West territory. Demonstrate a drive to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  • Deliver Winning Presentations: Develop and deliver winning presentations. Create and present compelling presentations covering all six customer touch points: Exhibits and Conferences, Pre-work and Professional Learning Workshops, Meetings and Campaigns, Sales Presentations, Curriculum Pilot Trainings, and Curriculum Program Activations.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with sales teams and key K-12 decision-makers within the market segment.
  • Advance Solutions: Partner directly with sales teams and product management to advance Savvas Science products, services, and solutions.
  • Maintain Expertise: Stay current with Savvas products and services through certification and training processes in order to fully support the sales cycle.
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of Savvas Learning Companyโ€™s Science print and digital solutions.
  • Conduct Training/Workshops: Provide Product Activation training for both new and existing customer accounts and offer professional learning workshops to districts and at conferences.
  • Provide Feedback: Gather and relay customer feedback to sales, product, and marketing teams to enhance offerings and strategies.
  • Collaborate Internally: Work closely with Savvas teams including sales, services, and product management to ensure alignment and support and to address and resolve customer satisfaction issues, ensuring overall customer success.
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction: Provide high levels of customer service consistently to foster satisfaction and loyalty.


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Ed-Tech experience required (5+ years), demonstrating expertise in utilizing and presenting digital solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of education theory and market trends in K-12 Science.
  • Deep knowledge and passion for learning in K-12 education.
  • Expert presenter in the delivery of engaging and informative sales presentations and product orientations. Demonstrate the ability to deliver winning presentations in large and small group presentations.
  • Highly skilled in persuasion, argumentation, and influencing experts and decision makers in K-12 Science.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong communicator with the ability to relate to all levels of K-12 employees, from superintendents to paraprofessionals.
  • Ability to have pointed conversations with school district experts in K-12 content areas.
  • Highly proficient with technology skills, including all presentation software and hardware (PC or Mac, whiteboard technology, 1:1 devices) for developing and delivering multimedia presentations both virtually and in-person.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and present Savvas technology solutions. Comfortable with the use of technology.
  • Understanding of sales campaign strategy, market trends, and the full continuum of Savvas Learning Company services to better understand the customer and audience.
  • Collaborative mindset, functioning as a flexible, team-oriented partner who shares responsibilities.
  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude and the ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills in managing time, communicating effectively, and organizing physical and digital materials to ensure efficient workflow and successful project execution.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 40-60% travel within the territory will be required. Occasional travel to other territories may be required. Significant travel will be required at times. Long distance travel in cars is possible.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.
  • The ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and operate in a demanding work environment is important.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical to successful performance in this role.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Candidates must reside in New Jersey.
  • Monitoring and controlling timekeeping and expenses in accordance with Savvas Learning Company Travel and Entertainment policies.


QUALIFICATIONS:ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required; Masterโ€™s degree preferred. A college degree is required with an advanced degree or specialty related training highly desirable.
  • 5+ years of K-12 education experience to include classroom teaching experience.
  • Previous experience in selling and servicing in the education market is required.
  • Experience in networking with high level district administrators and decision makers and engaging with district administrators and decision makers.
  • Experience in public speaking and creating engaging presentations for diverse audiences, including teachers, parents, district administrators, and adoption committees.
  • Specialty training or advanced certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
