Job description

Community Unit School District 308 (SD308) is seeking qualified candidates to become School Bus Monitors for the district.
Start/End Times:ย Vary based on routes split shift is generally betweenย 5:45am9:15amย andย 1:45pm5:15pm.ย 
COMPENSATION:



  • 16.00ย p/h
  • Monthly attendance Bonus
  • Longevity Bonus
  • Please note that the hourly rate of pay is inclusive of the mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

BENEFITS:ย  Full-time Associates enjoy a robust selection of healthcare benefits including employer paid Life and AD&D insurance, Long Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as three medical plans to choose from including PPO and HMO plans.ย  What's more, SD 308 currently provides a deductible reimbursement program for medical expenses (excluding ER services), when an employee is enrolled in our PPO plan and uses our RUSH Healthcare reimbursement program. PAID TIME OFF: This benefit includes:

  • Paid Holidays
  • Paid Sick Days (employee shall be granted ten (10) sick days per year.)
  • Paid Personal Days (employee shall be granted two (2) personal days per year.)
  • Paid Bereavement Days (employee shall be granted two (2) bereavement days per year.)

UNION MEMBERSHIP: This position is represented by the Oswego Transportation Association (OTA).
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 21 years of age (or older) with high school diploma or equivalent.
  • In a timely manner, handle emergency situations, evaluations and administer first aid.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, alcohol, background and TB testing.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn safety.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist bus driver with the safety, movement, management and care of students
  • Learn and adapt to each student's medical, physical, communicative and emotional needs
  • Serve as a role model demonstrating positive attitude and self-control
  • Protect the confidentiality of student records and information
  • Responsible to secure students who use child safety restraint systems
