Torch Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator to join a team providing day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex systems and enterprise IT infrastructure in support of the Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO). This position provides direct, on-site support for the internal DREN network enclave and plays a key role in ensuring system integrity, performance, and security across multiple environments.

As a Systems Administrator, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the lead systems administrator for enterprise operations, overseeing the administration, configuration, and maintenance of both physical and virtual environments.

  • Build, deploy, and maintain Windows-based Virtual Machines (VMs) utilizing Microsoft and VMware technologies (e.g., vSphere/ESXi, Horizon Client).

  • Architect and configure enterprise Windows OS infrastructure including Active Directory Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and Organizational Units.

  • Monitor and maintain essential IT operations including server health, applications, operating systems, security tools, and email systems.

  • Perform server administration tasks including patching, backups, account management, and resource monitoring in mixed environments.

  • Plan and implement modernization of infrastructure systems while ensuring data integrity and recoverability through scheduled backups and archive operations.

  • Develop and maintain Windows system images using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and SCCM.

  • Coordinate and conduct software installations, upgrades, and audits to ensure compliance with established configuration baselines and cybersecurity requirements (STIGs).

  • Deploy and support SecDevOps infrastructure to enhance automation and CI/CD capabilities for software development teams.

  • Work closely with Information Assurance (IA) teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities using tools such as ACAS.

  • Administer and maintain internal networking hardware (Cisco routers/switches, ASAs) to ensure continuous connectivity.

  • Provide tiered help desk support, troubleshoot end-user issues, and resolve technical problems as they arise.

  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures, schedules, and system documentation to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Coordinate with network and systems analysts to design and implement scalable, secure system solutions that align with evolving mission needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years of related experience.

  • Active Secret level Clearance

  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and server architecture.

  • Extensive experience with VMware infrastructure and enterprise virtualization.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SCCM, MDT, and Windows imaging tools.

  • Familiarity with Cisco network hardware and basic LAN/WAN administration.

  • Strong background in cybersecurity compliance, particularly with DISA STIGs and vulnerability remediation practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage system integrity, plan and execute system upgrades, and perform root cause analysis of system issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Active Directory, virtualization, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and network troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, backup and disaster recovery, and endpoint management.

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco (CCNA), or AWS are an advantage.

  • Experience administering enterprise Windows Server environments and VMware infrastructure.

  • Experience working in a DoD or classified environment.

  • Knowledge of automation and scripting tools, such as PowerShell, to streamline system administration tasks.

  • Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, or iterative development environments.
