Join a Growing Engineering Team

We're looking for an experienced Licensed Structural Engineer (PE) to join our expanding engineering team in Royal Oak, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to work on healthcare, commercial, and institutional building projects while playing a key role in shaping a growing structural engineering practice.

You'll collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and project teams from concept through construction, delivering innovative structural solutions for complex building projects.

What You'll Do

As our Structural Engineer, you will:

  • Design structural systems for commercial, healthcare, and institutional buildings.
  • Prepare structural drawings, calculations, and construction documents.
  • Perform structural analysis, load calculations, and foundation design.
  • Design steel, concrete, masonry, light-gauge framing, and timber structural systems.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Develop structural solutions that integrate with architectural designs.
  • Create and review engineering calculations and stamped drawings.
  • Participate in BIM coordination using Revit.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals.
  • Conduct site visits, field observations, and construction support.
  • Assist in developing engineering standards, templates, and structural details.
  • Support project proposals and client presentations when needed.


Required Qualifications

Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Michigan PE License or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • 7+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience designing commercial, institutional, or healthcare facilities.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Revit
    • AutoCAD
    • Structural Analysis Software (RISA, RAM, ETABS, or similar)
  • Experience designing:
    • Structural Steel
    • Reinforced Concrete
    • Masonry
    • Light Gauge Steel
    • Timber Structures
  • Strong understanding of IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and applicable building codes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) License.
  • Healthcare or hospital project experience.
  • Experience with vibration-sensitive facilities such as operating rooms or imaging suites.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary AEC firms.
  • Construction administration and field observation experience.
