Description:

Lehigh Valley Imaging is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to assist with outpatient imaging patients, working primarily out of our Allentown location. The hours for this position are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Our Registered Nurse provides care, monitoring and assessment for radiology patients, birth through geriatrics, while they receive their dedicated imaging study.

Duties:

  • Monitors patients while in the care of Lehigh Valley Imaging. Evaluates patient condition for successful completion of imaging studies.
  • Greets patients warmly, reviews pertinent medical history and establishes a rapport with the patient to assure their safety and comfortability.
  • Assists staff technologists transferring patients.
  • First assist for patients with contrast reactions.
  • Handles patient with a high degree of professional ethics, care, tact, courtesy, patience and safety at all times.
  • Performs venipuncture, starting IVs as needed.
  • Maintains accurate protocol and policies.
  • Performs safety checks on patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provides excellent patient care, comfort and understanding at all times.
  • Able to respond to critical emergencies, initiating Code Blue, RRT and/or CPR quickly and effectively.
  • Assumes responsibility for proper and efficient operation of all departmental monitoring equipment and code carts.
  • Abides by sterile practices and universal precautions.
  • Adheres to downtime procedures to ensure appropriate information is available, patient care remains continuous and proper parties are notified, as needed.
  • Orders medical supplies/medications as needed.
