Job description

We are looking for RNs to work in one of our Operating Room units.

The Registered Nurse (RN) exhibits and executes Baylor Scott & White Health’s (BSWH) Values & Behaviors in delivering and coordinating patient care. Utilizing the BSWH nursing professional practice model, the RN is a licensed professional who is responsible for using clinical reasoning, developing, implementing and evaluating the nursing plan of care, managing both emotional and physical patients, assessing patient and family level of understanding to provide effective communication and education, working collaboratively with medical staff and providing quality care in a compassionate and professional manner. 

Our Operating Room (OR) staff work together to perform all types of surgical operations utilizing cutting edge technologies, minimally invasive techniques and other intraoperative procedures to provide quality passionate care to patients. Our OR RNs provide care to patients and communicate updates to their families before, during and after surgical procedures as needed.  OR RNs also assist with instrument/inventory count before/after procedures, circulate and can scrub in emergent situations.

Ideal OR RN candidates will have at least 1 year of diverse OR experience (preferably a mix of hospital and surgery center) and be very proficient in the usage of Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
