Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time RN for our Acute Care - Cardiac Telemetry unit during night shifts. The RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of a collaborative team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. This role operates within a clinical setting overseen by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported by our Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by our Professional Practice Model and evidence-based research. RN competencies are aligned with these models and reflect our organizational values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exemplary Practice and Outcomes:
    • Utilizes the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver clinical care based on evidence-based practices, ensuring individualized care and effective coordination through strong partnerships.
    • Delivers patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics (such as age, gender, and medical conditions) while adapting services to acknowledge cultural diversity.
    • Engages with patients and their significant others appropriately, utilizing methods such as bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds to keep them informed and focused on their care goals.
    • Adheres to current clinical practice standards.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration:
    • Coordinates the safe delivery and documentation of quality patient care, promoting a professional care delivery model through inclusive interdisciplinary communication and timely documentation.
    • Exhibits teamwork by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner that encourages the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
    • Engages in performance improvement initiatives, supporting all stakeholders and participating in shared governance at all levels.
  • Professional Development and Initiative:
    • Completes all required initial and ongoing competency assessments, including mandatory and population-specific education.
    • Acts as a preceptor or mentor for fellow nurses and other staff to ensure a qualified workforce and foster a healthy work environment.
  • Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
    • Advocates for evidence-based practices and nursing research, participating in value analysis to evaluate patient care products.
    • Complies with all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, ensuring adherence to legal and accreditation standards.
    • Engages in data collection and formulates relevant clinical questions to advance evidence-based practices.
  • Resources and Support:
    • Plans proactively for patient care across the continuum while providing direct care.
    • Contributes to the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and team members to achieve optimal outcomes.
    • Ensures the efficient use of human and material resources.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Compliance with all organizational policies, work standards, and code of conduct is expected.

Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications:
    • RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact required.
    • BLS - Basic Life Support or equivalent certification required upon hire.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 5 years of RN experience is required; direct patient care experience is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; basic computer skills are essential.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary.
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with composure and respect.
    • Excellent time management and critical thinking skills, utilizing evidence and analytical skills in nursing practice.
