The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all[1]inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
  • Provide appropriate nursing services and education to clients/patients.
  • Observe, record, and reports to the appropriate person any symptoms, reactions and changes in a client’s condition.
  • Chart nursing notes in an informative and descriptive manner reflecting the care provided and the response to that care.
  • Assess and monitor patients with substance abuse history.
  • Perform initial, routine and emergency medical and mental health assessments.
  • Perform intake admissions for patients to include vitals, and nursing assessment.
  • Obtain, records and reports vital signs as indicated during the administration of medications and takes appropriate action for abnormal results.
  • Receives and transcribes physician order to patient charts.
  • Accurately records the administration of medication for patients as prescribed by the physicians in accordance with established policies and procedures. Provides and promotes patients’ rights during the administration of medication.
  • Observe, monitor and records symptoms and conditions of the patients with substance abuse that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug interactions or medication side- affects.
  • Routinely inspect, clean and monitor equipment and supplies to ensure patient safety.
  • Reports any equipment or supply issues to management for correction or repair.
  • Demonstrate awareness of proper infection control practice by using Universal Precautions and following policies and procedures of the Company, including OSHA’s Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and PPE standards.
  • Utilize EMR medical charting system to record medication information, vital signs, and communicate with clinical staff.
  • Participate in report and shift change. Record relevant information in the shift report 
Log (PDL).
  • Complete nursing assessments.
  • Obtain patient’s history on admission to facility per COMAR.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable State Regulations.
  • Routinely reads and responds to e-mails
