Job description

FS Staffing is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Cooler Reach Operator for a food distribution center in Bloomfield, CT. In this role, you will operate a stand-up reach truck in a refrigerated warehouse environment to move, store, and replenish food products while maintaining inventory accuracy and following all food safety standards. The ideal candidate has previous reach truck experience, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to workplace safety and quality.


Location: Bloomfield, CT

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour

Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM Start Time


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate a stand-up reach truck to transport, store, and retrieve palletized products.
  • Load, unload, and move inventory throughout the cooler warehouse.
  • Accurately pick, replenish, and put away products using RF scanners or warehouse management systems.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Verify product counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, OSHA, and company safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and other warehouse duties as assigned.
  • Work safely in a refrigerated environment for extended periods.

Qualifications
  • Previous stand-up reach truck experience required.
  • Prior warehouse or food distribution experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Experience using RF scanners is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated cooler environment.
  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, bend, reach, twist, and walk throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
