Job Title: Retail Store Manager – Swimming Pool & Spa
Location: Columbus, Indiana
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations of our swimming pool and spa retail location. This role is responsible for driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, managing staff, and ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of the store. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, retail management experience, and a working knowledge of swimming pool and spa products, chemicals, and water care—or a proven ability to learn quickly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day retail store operations
  • Lead, train, schedule, and supervise retail staff to ensure high performance and accountability
  • Drive retail sales through customer engagement, merchandising, and promotional execution
  • Provide expert guidance to customers on pool and spa products, chemicals, equipment, and water testing
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking
  • Ensure accurate point-of-sale transactions, cash handling, and daily reconciliation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations in a professional and solutions-oriented manner
  • Coordinate with ownership and other departments as needed
  • Monitor and report on sales performance, labor efficiency, and inventory metrics
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of retail management experience (pool/spa or home improvement industry preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a retail team
  • Strong sales acumen with a customer-first mindset
  • Working knowledge of pool and spa products, chemicals, and water care is a plus
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with POS systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office or similar tools
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Saturday mornings
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
