The Union Family Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team working remotely in New York, New York. • Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ mental health concerns to formulate accurate clinical diagnoses and develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy, employing a variety of therapeutic methods tailored to the distinct needs of each client, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and other relevant modalities.
• Offer timely crisis intervention support to clients facing acute mental health challenges, assisting them in de-escalation and providing effective coping strategies.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards in accordance with best practices in mental health documentation.
• Collaborate interdisciplinary with psychiatrists, social workers, and health professionals to ensure comprehensive care is consistently delivered to clients, enhancing their treatment effectiveness.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources to assist in their recovery journey and advocate for their rights and needs.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by attending workshops, training sessions, and other educational opportunities to stay current on best practices in mental health therapy.

You will work with a diverse client base representing various age groups and backgrounds, addressing a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, and trauma-related disorders. Your role is integral in navigating these complexities as you provide tailored therapeutic support, respecting each client’s unique cultural context and personal experiences.

• Current and valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist in New York (e.g., LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R).
• An advanced degree—Master’s or Doctorate—in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the capacity to develop effective, individualized treatment plans.
• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in a mental health setting.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards throughout your practice.

• Previous experience in a clinical or community health setting is advantageous; however, entry-level positions will be considered for exceptional candidates with a passion for mental health.
• Familiarity with telehealth technology and virtual therapy platforms enhances the delivery of care in a remote setting.
