• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and emotional status using standardized assessment tools and interviews.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs and goals of each client, considering their backgrounds, contexts, and therapeutic needs.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, utilizing various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and supportive talk therapies in individual, group, and family therapy settings.
• Monitor client progress through regular follow-ups and adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Offer crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute mental health crises, with immediate support and appropriate referral to emergency services when needed.
• Keep detailed, accurate, and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and your licensing board's ethical standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, case managers, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
• Engage in continuous learning through participation in professional development workshops, clinical supervision, and training on the latest mental health treatment strategies.
• Uphold ethical standards as set forth by the state licensing board and maintain professional conduct in all aspects of practice.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at the Better Living Psychotherapy Center, you will work with a wide range of clients, including adolescents, adults, and families facing various mental health challenges. Our patient population includes individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other emotional difficulties. Our focus on an inclusive approach allows practitioners to adapt treatment plans that respect and cater to each client’s cultural, social, and personal backgrounds.

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in Illinois.
• Proficient clinical assessment and diagnostic skills with the ability to formulate treatment plans effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport and foster therapeutic relationships with clients.
• A compassionate, empathetic approach to care, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing client well-being.
• Ability to work independently, while also collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Thorough knowledge of the ethical guidelines and laws governing mental health practice.
• Desire for ongoing professional development and a dedication to improving clinical skills.

A minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical mental health setting is required, providing you with a solid foundation in therapeutic practice. Previous experience working with client populations similar to those served by our clinic will be highly regarded. Familiarity with teletherapy practices and tools is also beneficial.
