The Citrus Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough preliminary mental health evaluations during initial consultations, gathering detailed client histories and assessing current challenges.
  • Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans tailored to each client or group, ensuring that interventions align with best practices.
  • Facilitate engaging and supportive individual and group therapy sessions that encourage open dialogue and promote mental wellness.
  • Monitor client progress throughout the treatment journey, adjusting interventions as needed based on outcomes and feedback.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including other mental health specialists and primary care providers, to enhance overall care strategies.
  • Manage referrals effectively, ensuring clients have access to additional resources and support systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, helping them understand and navigate mental health challenges.
  • Identify and address behaviors and factors that may hinder clients' recovery efforts promptly.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse spectrum of clients struggling with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship-related challenges. Your capacity to form meaningful connections with clients will ensure an effective therapeutic alliance that is crucial for successful outcomes. Additionally, your approach will consider the underlying physical health issues and addiction disorders that may be impacting your clientsโ€™ mental wellness.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
  • Successful completion of the NCE and/or the NCMHCE exams is necessary.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health record systems such as AVATAR is preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in a mental health counseling role, showcasing a successful track record of developing effective treatment plans.
  • Understanding of drug therapies prescribed for mental health conditions, enhancing your ability to collaborate with psychiatrists.
  • Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices, ensuring up-to-date delivery of care.
